Delight Okeke of Holy Ghost International School Awka, King- David Okpara of Golden Academy Okpuno and Goodness Anorue of Urban Girls Secondary School, Ekwulobia, have emerged the winners of the Anambra State SMASE Africa -IDK 2nd Edition Mathematics Championship.
The winners who took first positions in the primary, Junior and Senior Secondary categories respectively,went home with laptop computers, Championship medals and cash award.
The Mathematics Championship Sponsored by Office of the SSG, Anambra State, National Chairman, APGA, Barrister Sly Ezeokenwa, Idemili North and Aguata local government areas, have the participants classified into Junior Category Primary 5-6, Middle Category JSS2-JSS3 and Senior Category SSS2-SSS3.
In her address, the Chief Executive Officer, Integral Development Consult, IDK, Mrs Chinwe Nweke explained that the competition is open to both public and private schools as it is a big exposure for them to shine.
The Coordinator of Strengthening Mathematics and Science Education,SMASE Africa in Anambra state,Chief Augustine Okeke explained that SMASE Africa is an international organisation aimed at strengthening mathematics and science education in Africa and pointed out that the Mathematics Championship is service to humanity by way of bringing up scientists that will help develop Africa and the competition is open to every primary and secondary school in Anambra state .
