Variant Polio Virus: Anambra State Govt To Commence National Immunization Plus Days June 28

Anambra State Government is to begin National Immunization Plus Days round two against circulating variant polio virus type two from twenty eight of this month.

Speaking during stakeholders meeting organized by the Anambra State Primary Health Care Development Agency, the Permanent Secretary, Anambra State Ministry of Health, Dr. Obiageli Uchebo said that the meeting is very critical for achieving effective and efficient result, urging parents, school managers to support the exercise.  

The Executive Secretary, Anambra State Primary Health Care Development Agency, Pharmacist Chisom Uchem represented by the Director of Disease and Immunization in the agency, Dr. Nnamdi Uliagbafusi said that the immunisation is for  children between zero to fifty-nine months and that the meeting was to brainstorm on how to make the exercise seamlessly.

The Anamvbra State World Health Organization Coordinator, Mr. Mohammad Bonos noted that the agency will continue to support the programme, saying that part of the problems they noticed from the past exercise was that sensitization was not properly done and efforts must be put in place to ensure enough sensitization throughout the state, urging all participants to be actively involved in making the immunization to be a successful one.
