Governor Chukwuma Soludo joined the Umueri community in Anambra East Local Government Area to celebrate their New Yam Festival, a cultural event that projects the people’s rich agricultural heritage and heralds the yam harvest season.
During the celebration, Governor Soludo felicitated with the Traditional Ruler of Umueri, Igwe Ben Emeka, applauding his leadership and commitment to fostering unity and development in the community, and expressed optimism that together, the people would continue to uphold their traditions while embracing modern advancements for sustainable growth.
The Governor emphasized the importance of agriculture to the economic development of Anambra State and encouraged community members to adopt innovative farming techniques to enhance productivity.
Earlier, Igwe Emeka commended the Governor’s commitment to Ndị Anambra, praying God to continue to bless him with more strength and wisdom, even as he pledged the support of Umueri people for Governor Soludo’s reelection bid for second term in office.
