President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has called on West African leaders to move beyond declarations and start delivering on economic integration, warning that the region cannot afford to “compete in isolation” or wait for the global economy to catch up.
Speaking at the West Africa Economic Summit in Abuja, President Tinubu also warned that fragmented markets will only hinder businesses, leaving behind a trail of missed opportunities.
According to him, West Africa has the talent, population and resources, but without unity, it cannot go far, arguing that the real issue is not lack of ambition, but poor coordination and policy mismatch, among nations.
