Synod Of Aguata Diocese:  Managers Of Social Media Cautioned Against Dissemination Of Falsehood

The second session of the seventh synod of Aguata Diocese, Anglican Communion, has ended at Holy Trinity Parish Ufuma in Orumba North Local Government Area with a call on Christians to be more committed in their service to God and humanity.

Correspondent, Emmanuel Okonkwo reports that in a sermon, the Bishop of Kebbi Diocese and one-time Archbishop of Kaduna Province, Most Reverend Edmund Akanya, who described sinners as God’s enemy, called on managers of social media to desist from using such in purveying falsehood, and charged those occupying leadership positions to use them in touching lives positively.

In a remark, the President of the synod and Anglican Bishop of Aguata Diocese, Right Reverend Samuel Ezeofor, charged Christians, especially the synod delegates, to domesticate the theme of the synod; “God’s great tasks for the Church, the great commission” in all their churches and communities in order to enthrone a God-fearing society, in addition to being faithful servants of God.

Some Synod delegates, including the President of Aguata Diocesan Council of Knights, Sir Obiora Okeke, Aguata Diocese Director of Media and Communications, Mr Abuchi Nwozor, President General of Ezira community, Mr Moses Akam, among others, described the synod theme as apt, and commended Bishop Ezeofor for series of spiritual awakening programmes introduced in Aguata Diocese, while the President of the Women Ministry, Mrs Chinyere Ezeofor, tasked women on bringing their children closer to God in order to become useful citizens.
