A member of the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria Chief Jonathan Nzekwe has described the federal government’s proposal to sale the Nation’s refineries as a move that will stimulate the downstream sector if properly done.
Speaking to the ABS in Awka, Chief Nzekwe who regretted the non-functionality of the nation’s refineries due to poor maintenance over the years, affirmed that concessioning the refineries to serious private Industrialists and groups will go along way in ensuring constant availability of petroleum products.
Chief Nzekwe in addition urged the federal government to issue license to more individuals to build modular refineries which he said will boost the nation’s economy, create jobs for the teeming youths, in addition to crashing the pump price of petrol in Nigeria.
