Health they say is wealth, and a healthy nation is equally a wealthy nation.
Since Governor Chukwuma Soludo assumed office in March seventeen, 2022, residents of the state have been applauding him for the transformation his administration has brought to the state’s healthcare sector, especially in infrastructure and human resource development.
According to the Managing Director of Anambra State Health Insurance Agency, Dr. Simeon Onyemaechi, when Governor Soludo assumed office, the agency’s enrollment was one hundred and forty-thousand persons and that as at today, the agency has two hundred and ninety-one thousand actively registered Ndi Anambra and if added the enrollment that come from the Global Fund project, they will be looking at three hundred thousand persons registered into the scheme.
For the Executive Secretary, Anambra State Primary Health Care Development Agency, Pharmacist Chisom Uchem, after the assumption of office, Governor Soludo toured the PHC’s and observed that they have structures without manpower and immediately approved the employment of over five thousand health workers and one thousand for PHC’s alone, and as at now, the Governor has employed eight thousand trained and skilled health professionals which was why in December 2024, Anambra won award as the best state in PHC in the Southeast region and Nigeria at large and went home with one point two million US dollars.
