In a ceremony at Alex Ekwueme Square, Awka, Professor Chukwuma Soludo and Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim were officially sworn in for their second term as Governor and Deputy Governor of Anambra State.
The event, which drew thousands of supporters, Vice President Senator Kashim Shettima, former President Olusegun Obasanjo, former President Goodluck Jonathan, former Commonwealth Secretary-General Chief Emeka Anyaoku, former governors, senators, members of the clergy, captains of industry, traditional rulers, and high-ranking officials from across the federation, marked the continuation of the “Solution” administration’s agenda.

Following a decisive electoral victory in November 2025, Governor Soludo’s second inauguration underscores a renewed mandate to transform Anambra into a liveable and prosperous megacity.
Vice President Shettima congratulated the Governor on his election victory and inauguration, promising continued collaboration with his administration to advance development.


Governor Soludo, in his inaugural speech, thanked the people of Anambra for their trust and pledged unwavering commitment to his administration’s vision, stating that over the next four years, his government will shift to a higher gear and institutionalize reforms centered on the next generation, with priority on security and sustainable development.

Highlights of the ceremony included the administration of the Oath of Office and Oath of Allegiance on the Governor and Deputy Governor by the Chief Judge of Anambra State, Justice Onochie Anyachebelu, thereby cementing their tenure until 2030.

The event also featured a parade and inspection of the parade by Governor Soludo.
