A Finnish District Court has yesterday sentenced Simon Ekpa, the self-styled leader of the “Indigenous People of Biafra Government in Exile,” to six years in prison for terrorism-related offenses.
Ekpa was arrested on November 21, 2024, by the Finnish National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), after months of monitoring of his activities.
Authorities accused him of using social media to incite terrorism and promote violence actions which Finnish investigators said fueled unrest in southeastern Nigeria.
