It was a time for stocktaking as stakeholders in Anambra took turns to applaud Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s performance during his first tenure as Governor of the state.
This was evident in their responses during the swearing-in ceremony of Governor Soludo and his Deputy, Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim, for their second term in office.
Reacting to the Governor’s development strides over the past four years, the former Secretary-General of the Commonwealth and elder statesman from Anambra, Chief Emeka Anyaoku, said he was excited to be in his hometown to celebrate the sterling qualities of Governor Soludo, and to support him as he continues to steer the leadership of the state for the next four years.
Also at the event, a cross-section of clergymen from both Catholic and Anglican denominations expressed satisfaction with the level of development the Governor has brought to Anambra State.
His Eminence, Peter Cardinal Okpaleke of the Ekwulobia Catholic Diocese, Archbishop of the Province of the Niger and Bishop of Awka Anglican Diocese, Most Reverend Alexander Ibezim, Bishop Jonas Benson Okoye of Nnewi Catholic Diocese, Bishop Samuel Ezeofor of Aguata Anglican Diocese, and Bishop Owen Nwokolo of the Diocese on the Niger were among the clergy who applauded the infrastructural development provided by Governor Soludo, expressing confidence that the next four years will be remarkable in the history of Anambra State.
A former Chief of Staff to former Governor Willie Obiano, Chief Primus Odili, and a former Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of ABS, Chief Uche Nworah, noted that they attended the event to show solidarity and support for the Governor, calling on every Onye Anambra to give maximum support to enable him to continue with his lofty plans for the state.
