The Catholic Bishop Of Awka Diocese, Most Reverend Paulinus Ezeokafor, says its a sin to hold unto earthly wealth which is transient.
Religion Correspondent Amaka Onwuzulike reports that Most Reverend Ezeokafor who stated this in his homily at Saint Joseph’s Catholic Parish Neni, while celebrating a special mass to mark silver jubilee of the parish, during which he administered sacrament of confirmation to thirty candidates and honoured about fifty parishioners who have attained the age of eighty years, noted that it will be a great disservice for christians to acquire earthly wealth and miss the kingdom of God.

The Traditional Ruler of the community, Igwe Damian Ezeani, said that the gospel of Christ brought light to the community, and called on those who received the sacrament of confirmation to be strong in their faith and never join any association that will mar their future.

Welcoming Bishop Ezeokafor on the visit, the Mayor of Anaocha Council Area, Honourable Romanus Ibekwe, an indigene of Neni, said that it was a milestone for them to have attained such heights with expansion of six other parishes in the community, noting that the gospel of Jesus Christ has reached the nooks and crannies of the community.
