SABER Holds Technical Session, Town Hall Meeting In Awka

State Action on Business Enabling Reforms, SABER, a World Bank-assisted program designed to strengthen the implementation of business-enabling reforms across Nigerian states, has held a technical session and town hall meeting, organized by the Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council in Awka.

Speaking during the meeting, a reform Leader from the PEBEC Secretariat Abuja, Mr. Gabriel Ohiemi said that PEBEC is a seven hundred and fifty million dollars loan initiative funded by the World Bank, established to remove administrative and bereaucratic constraints to the ease of doing business in Nigeria, and that they are in the State for subnational town hall meeting and stakeholders engagements. 

The Anambra State Commissioner for Economic Planning and Budget who is the State’s Champion for ease of doing business, Chiamaka Nnake said that the initiative also focuses on improving the business environment by streamlining bureaucratic processes, enhancing transparency, and implementing reforms that promote business growth and development in the State, adding that what Governor Chukwuma Soludo has done in the areas of road construction and digitization of land acquisition among numerous others are part of the ease of doing business. 

For the State Commissioner for Industry, Mr. Christian Udechukwu, Anambra has enjoyed efficient and functional relationship with the federal government in the areas of Small and Medium Enterprises through the bank of Industry, and that small scale grants are being given to SMEs in the State.
