Rotary Club Of Awka Holds Foundation Dinner, Renews Call For Charity

Rotary Club of Awka has organized a special Rotary Foundation Dinner with a call for people to be intentional in giving arms, emphasizing that giving is not about size of one’s bank account, but the size of his or her compassion.

Speaking at the event which featured recognition of some active members and donations for charity works of the club, the President Rotary Club of Awka, Rotarian Chijioke Oguguo while appreciating the support of the members, said that their kindness and commitment to service are the driving force behind the life changing projects the club carries out across the world, and assured that their contributions are not going to be taken for granted by the leadership of Rotary club.

A keynote speaker at the event and  the Special Adviser to Governor Soludo on Youth Empowerment Programme, Dr Nelson Omenugha whose presentation centered on the topic “Honouring the Rotary Foundation, Legacy For Service: Giving Is Not About the Size of Your Bank Account, But the Size of Your Compassion”, commended the group for their various selfless services to humanity, and encouraged them to also see it as a duty to always assist their members in times of need.

Top members of the club, including past Governors of District 9142 of the club, Professor Nkemdilim Nnonyelu and Dr Emma Udeakpeh, as well as Rotarian Chike Ekwueme applauded the present leadership of Rotary club of Awka on various efforts in realizing the visions of the club, reminding members of the need not to be tired of giving to uplifte humanity.
