Police Intercepts Bus At Upper Iweka Onitsha, Arrest Suspect With Police Beretta Pistol, Live Ammunition

The Police in Anambra state have  intercepted a bus at Upper Iweka, Onitsha with life ammunition and police Baretta pistol.

According to a release signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Haruna Muhammed, operatives of Puff- adder in conjunction with patrol team attached to operation  Kpochapu while on a stop and search duty at Upper Iweka, intercepted a bus with registration number UKP108 2U coming from Asaba and recovered a police Baretta Pistol with breech number A0-49092 loaded with seven rounds of life ammunition and one expanded ammunition after a thorough search.

The release disclosed that six different handsets were also recovered from a thirty- five year old Sunday Onyema from Orlu in Imo state.

The release further stated that the suspect is assisting the police with useful information to aid their investigation after which he would be charged to court for prosecution.
