Twenty youths from Nibo community have received one million naira each from a philanthropist, Chief Boniface Okelekwe to expand their businesses.
The empowerment programme tagged, “Nibo 20 For 20 Programme”, held at Nibo Civic Centre, attracted the traditional ruler of the community, Igwe Michael Ngene and the President General, Professor Tony Nwokoye while the beneficiaries were drawn from all the villages of the community.
Before presenting the cheques, the philanthropist and benefactor Chief Okelekwe who recounted how he broke barriers of poverty, said his primary goal was to build and nurture future billionaires who will in turn mentor and empower others to become self, reliant as proactive measures to fight crime and social vices in society, urging beneficiaries to uphold determination, handwork, integrity and humility to achieve their aspirations.

In his remarks, the traditional ruler of the community, Igwe Ngene, thanked the philanthropist for the initiative and urged the beneficiaries to use the opportunity to actualize their goals, urging other privileged individuals in the area to emulate Chief Okelekwe while the convener of the programme, Mr Douglas Aniemena said all applicants were given equal opportunity and all proposals were screened, evaluated and verified based on lay down criteria.
