It was a moment filled with joy as Obident-Aja-Ajanze Union, under the People Investment Programme empowered members of the constituency with equipments worth millions of naira.
The empowerment equipment which were shuttle buses, sewing machines, grinding machines, trucks and motorcycles took place at Egwegwe Square, Nimo and had in attendance the former Labour Party Presidential Candidate in 2023, Mr Peter Obi now in African Democratic Alliance, the Vice-Chancellor Academics, Paul University, Awka, Professor Stella Okunna, Senator Ben Ndi-Obi, men, women and youths from Njikoka, Dunukofia and Anaocha local government areas.
The benefactor of the Empowerment programme, Honourable George Ozodinobi who is also the member representing Dunukofia, Njikoka, and Anaocha federal constituency in the federal House of Representatives, explained that what informed his desire to empower his constituents was his humble background, where he experienced poverty before he and his siblings got to the level they are today and to give back to the society.
Addressing his supporters, the former Labour Party Presidential candidate, Mr Obi declared that Nigeria has collapsed totally, and there was need to redeem it by saying that he has never been desperate to be president of Nigeria, rather he is desperate to see a Nigeria that works and commended Honourable Ozodinobi for the empowerment even as he urged the beneficiaries to make judicious use of the equipment.
