NDLEA Tasks Parents On Close Monitoring Of Children

The Commander National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Anambra State Command, Mr Charles Onubogu has called on parents to closely monitor their children and wards to know when they start indulging in drug abuse so as to rescue them on time and save their destinies.

Correspondent Cynthia Umeokechukwu reports that Mr Onubogu who made the call during an ABS audience participatory program “NDLEA AND YOU “, while speaking on the topic, “Signs and Symptoms Of Drug Abuse “, highlighted various signs and symptoms of drug abuse, including sudden isolation, mood swings, hallucinations, unnecessary lying, loss of interest in skills, neglecting responsibilities, financial problems, depression, among others, and advised parents to see parenting as a task that demands total focus and commitment, and not as a part-time thing.

The Anambra State NDLEA Boss who spoke through the command’s Principal Staff Officer in charge of Media, Advocacy, and Training, Madam Priscilla Onyema warned that people should stay away from hard drugs as the negative effects on lives and destinies are enormous. 

Contributing, the Officer in charge of Media in the agency, Mr Nkemjika Nwogu, emphasized the need for parents to be proactive and not neglect their children, especially when they notice suspicious behaviour, regretting that some parents tend to neglect their children, an act he said leads to the children’s engagement in drug activities, and other social vices
