Late Elder Lawrence Nwozor Buried At His Country Home, Ifite Awka

From all walks of life gathered families, personalities and associates to pay their last respect to an octogenarian; Elder Lawrence Nwonyibo Nwozor, popularly known with “Sir White”, whom many described as a man who lived a fulfilled life.

The funeral service held at St. Michael and All Angels Anglican Parish, Ifite Awka, had clergies, including the Bishop of Awka Diocese and Archbishop Ecclesiastical Province of the Niger, Most Reverend Alexander Ibezim, the Bishop of Ogbaru Diocese, Right Reverend Prosper Amah, Representative of Bishop of Aguata Diocese; Right Reverend Samuel Ezeofor and host of other senior clergies in attendance.

In his sermon, Archbishop Ibezim thanked God for the life of Elder Nwozor, describing him as one who lived a fulfilled life, urging all present to be prayerful, steadfast in their Christian faith and resolute in whatever good thing they do, not minding the challenges.

Speaking, the eldest son of the deceased and staff of Anambra Broadcasting Service, ABS, Mr Abuchi Nwozor, described the father as a humble man, an educationist, a community leader who also attained the level of being the oldest man in his community, emphasizing that his legacies lives on.

Another of his son, Professor Kingsley Nwozor; of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, Igbariam noted that the father faced different tribulations as a growing child and young man, which made him determined to be a teacher, a devout Christian and leader, living behind an enduring legacies.

The Managing Director of ABS; Mr Christopher Molokwu, Awka prominent sons, including Chief Jonathon Nzekwe and Obi Ochije-Moudilim, Vice Chancellor of COOU, Igbariam, Professor Kate Omenugha, industrialists, government functionaries and numerous others were among those who visited the family and offered words of condolence.
