Johnbosco Eze from Saint Michaels Model Comprehensive Secondary School, Nimo in Njikoka Local Government Area has emerged winner in the secondary school’s category of the 2024 edition of Joe Anatune Memorial Essay Competition.
Master Eze went home with a cash prize of two hundred thousand naira only.
The annual essay competition organized by Mrs Ify Anatune, widow of the advertising doyen, Joe Anatune, was aimed at encouraging young people to read and write in order to be better future leaders.
Esther Edochie and Mmaduabuchi Uba came second and third positions respectively, receiving one hundred and fifty-thousand naira and one hundred thousand naira, among other prize recipients.
Presenting the prizes, the organizer and Member one, Anambra State Basic Education Board, Awka, Mrs Anatune advised students to always read and research in order to develop their human minds.
The winners, Master Eze and Miss Nnabugwu thanked the organizers of the awards and urged their colleagues in schools to study hard in order to be great in life.
