The Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC,
Professor Mahmood Yakubu, says the Commission has commenced plans for the 2023 general elections with the ongoing series of review of the
2019 poll.
Professor Yakubu, who disclosed this yesterday at the 2019 Post
Election Review Meeting With Resident Electoral Commissioners in
Ikeja, Lagos State, said the Commission is determined to improve the
electoral process.
He said that the commission is confident and has high hope that the
Resident Electoral Commissioners just like other stakeholders will
also rise to the occasion.
According to him, the first meeting in the series was held in Abuja
with Resident Electoral Commissioners, commission’s officials,
electoral officers in the seven hundred and seventy-four Local
Government Areas across the country, leaders of political parties, the
Media, civil society organizations and security agencies among others.
