Gonzaga Jesuit College Okija Celebrates Benefactors’ Day, Inaugurates Three New Buildings

As part of activities marking the annual Benefactors’ Day celebration at Gonzaga Jesuit College, Okija, the founder of the college and Chairman of the Obijackson Group, Chief Ernest Obiejesi, has commissioned three new buildings, a classroom block and two hostels, while also upgrading other academic facilities within the school.

This year’s event commenced with a Holy Mass at the school chapel, presided over by Reverend Father Jude Obiaka, after which Chief Obiejesi, accompanied by his wife, Nnenna Obiejesi, the traditional ruler of Okija, Igwe Emeka Okezie, and other dignitaries, proceeded to commission the newly completed projects.

Addressing the students, Chief Obiejesi expressed satisfaction in celebrating the special day with them, emphasizing the transformative power of education in a child’s life, and also called on the government to create an enabling environment for business owners to effectively carry out their corporate social responsibilities.      

In separate interviews, the Principal of the college, Reverend Father Franklin Ibeli, the Vice Principal, Academics, Reverend Sister Chidinma Eke, and the Head Girl, Vinisa Umeji,  expressed  gratitude to Chief Obiejesi for his unwavering commitment to the growth and development of the institution.
