Flooding: Former Federal Lawmaker Obidigwe Asks FG To Find Permanent Solution

The immediate past member that represented Anambra East and West Federal Constituency, Honourable Chinedu Obidigwe has called on the federal government to urgently find a lasting solution to the perennial flooding threatening the livelihood of Nigerians.

Speaking to ABS correspondent Chibuzor Okoye in Awka, the former federal lawmaker regretted the quantum of damage being caused by flooding yearly in Nigeria, saying that Nigerians who live along coastal ways have lost both human lives and fortunes in the ugly and preventable menace.

Honourable Obidigwe further asked the President Bola Tinubu’s led administration to put mechanisms in place to construct new dams as well as upgrade the existing ones to be able to withhold volumes of water any time Cameroon releases it from their dams.     

He however commended Governor Chukwuma Soludo for his numerous developmental strides in both human and infrastructural developments across the state, saying that what the Governor has done will help the party to convincingly win the November eight Anambra governorship election.
