Federal Lawmaker Umeh Awards Scholarship To 326 Beneficiaries 

For the past twenty years, Ndi Anambra Central have been benefiting from a scholarship scheme instituted by the Senator representing them at the Red Chambers, Chief Victor Umeh, who believes that education is the bedrock of success in life.

Since becoming a Senator, Chief Umeh has raised the number of beneficiaries on yearly basis, as he awarded scholarships to three hundred and twenty-six beneficiaries in this latest batch, up from over two hundred he had previously, costing him a whooping sixty-four million naira.

Announcing the disbursement at Cana House, Awka, Senator Umeh said that the programme began in 1999 with two individuals, later increased to seventy-six, then to two hundred and twenty-three, and now three hundred and twenty-six beneficiaries.  

Addressing the beneficiaries, as well as their parents and guardians, a former Governor of the state and Labour Party Presidential candidate in the 2023 general elections, Mr Peter Obi, applauded Senator Umeh for investing in human infrastructure and building the lives of youths in the state and the nation at large, noting that leadership without compassion amounts to nothing.
