The economic realities in the country no doubt, cut across all sphares of living including prices of local fast food and nuts which are now in abundance as their harvest sets in.

Correspondent, Blessing Ijedibia reports that the price of boiled groundnut, a popular snack that often serves as a light meal before next major meal, has seen a significant increase, as a bag of raw groundnut now sells for ninety thousand naira, compared to the previous year’s price of sixty to seventy thousand naira.

A seller, Mrs. Chinyere Awoke, noted that the hike in the wholesale price has also affected retail sales, leading to reduced patronage.

A similar situation was observed at a fried potato stand, where the seller, Mrs. Ngozi Umah, lamented that a bag of potatoes now costs fifteen thousand naira, up from eight thousand naira last year, noting that the price hike has caused many of her customers to stop patronizing her.
