The Catholic Women Organisation, CWO, Awka Diocese has honoured ‘the wife of Anambra State Governor, Dr Nonye Soludo with CWO Super Amazon’ award.
Represented by the Commissioner for Special Duties, Honourable Beverly Ikpeazu -Nkemdiche, Dr Soludo was given the award during the 2025 Triennial Convention of the Diocese held at Saint Patrick’s Cathedral, Awka, in recognition of her efforts in giving women and children of the state better life.
Speaking after receiving the award, Dr Soludo appreciated members of CWO, Awka Diocese, for honour and support, especially their prayers, urging them not to relent as according to her , for there to be a sane society, women must be on their toes to monitor their children and wards, know the friends they keep and their movement at all times, even as she advised them to be submissive to their husbands.
Speaking earlier during the pontifical mass that ushered in the event, the Catholic Bishop of Awka Diocese, Most Reverend Paulinus Ezeokafor, noted that women not only shape the family in terms of child upbringing, but are also the life wire of the church, and prayed God for more blessings upon them, even as he charged them to always emulate the life of Virgin Mary who is their role model.
