Right after inauguration, Governor Chukwuma Soludo declared Anambra a massive ‘Construction Site and his philosophy, “Everything Technology, Technology Everywhere!” became Anambra’s New Tech World Order.
This philosophy reflects the 1776 Jeffersonian goal of equalitarian democracy of life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness.
Governor Soludo’s approach is aimed at providing mass opportunities towards achieving life’s purposeful freedom, with pursuit of happiness, through digital technology.
This has among other things engendered the Solution Innovation District as incubation park and agency. with the task of turning the tech mantra into popular reality.
Perhaps, for reasons both strategic and pragmatic, he has set Awka apart to become the epicenter of his administration digital revolution.
As the heartland of Nigeria’s indigenous technology, Awka appeared ideal, especially with it age long blacksmithing activities and standing on that foundation of indigenous technology to build and nurture future technological growth and expansion was profoundly progressive.
Soludo’s digital transformation is pivotally upgrading Awka to become one of Africa’s major technological hubs.
Today, the Solution Innovation District has taken over the site of old Government House and presently massive construction of the main multipurpose Innovation Block with an estimated three thousand eight hundred and forty-two-square-meter floor-space to house hi-tech facilities; including, Enterprise Data Centers, Artificial Intelligence, Mechatronics, Robotics and Virtual Reality laboratories which are on going.
Also accommodated are gyms, co-working areas, creativity halls, gaming rooms, restaurants, auditoriums, nap rooms, libraries, shops, offices and conference rooms, which will guaranteed a relaxed, fun and productive work environment.
World tech giants like Apple, Microsoft, Nvidia, Google, Amazon and Meta, are expected to be attracted to Awka, to explore emerging opportunities that will uplift Awka as Africa’s preferred technological hub destination.
Making Awka a fintech startup capital if fully enabled, will empower it to compete favourably in attracting investments with today’s dominant cities like Nairobi, Kigali in Rwanda, Lagos and Cape Town.
The strength of Anambra’s youth-population would be harnessed for in-demand skills with the continuous free digitally-enabled training targeting Anambra’s one Million Digital Tribe.
Governor Soludo’s dogged efforts to put Awka on the tech world map will reposition the town to its rightful position in the digital world.
