The Chartered Institute of Taxation of Nigeria,has held the Investiture Ceremony of Dr.Chikwelu Mbonu as the fifth Chairman of Awka and District Society as well as the inauguration of 2025/2027 Executive Committee.
In his opening remarks during the event held at the Conference hall of UNIZIK Business School, the Special Guest of honour and Accountant General of Anambra State,Mr Joachim Achor said that the Chartered Institute of Taxation in Nigeria is tasked with the responsibility of taxation which is very important to the society, and that all government provided structures in the society are made possible through tax.

The Executive Chairman, Anambra State Internal Revenue Service, Dr. Greg Ezeilo in his lecture titled ,”Nigeria Tax Reforms;Tax Digital Revolution at the Subnational levels”disclosed that the new tax law in Nigeria when it comes into force in January next year,will pay people more.

The newly elected Chairman, Dr. Mbonu in his policy thrust presented three strategic pillars that will define his administration to include Making Awka and District Society visible locally and nationally, strengthening the triple Helix collaboration and building an active and engaged membership, adding that the active participation, expertise,time, resources of the whole members are crucial to their collective success.
