Anambra State Universal Basic Education Board (ASUBEB) has held the ASUBEB/UBEC Official Financial Bid Opening for UBEC/SUBEB 2022, 2023, and 2024 Intervention Projects following the successful completion of the technical evaluation stage, in which bidders who scored seventy percent and above were shortlisted for the financial bidding exercise.
In her address during the exercise held at the Utility Hall of ASUBEB, headquarters of the board in Awka, which had in attendance ASUBEB board members, representatives of ICPC, the Ministry of Education, Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC), Civil Society Organisations, and contractors, the Executive Chairman of ASUBEB, Dr. Vera Nwadinobi, said the financial bid opening for the 2022, 2023, and 2024 UBEC Matching Grant Projects in junior secondary and primary schools in Anambra State is the second most important process in awarding contracts, and revealed that bids were received from over one thousand companies about a week ago for the technical bid opening.

Earlier in his opening remarks, the ASUBEB Head of Procurement, Mr. Chinedu Echezona congratulated the contractors for being part of the exercise and assured them that the process will be based on merit, transparency, and fairness.
The Universal Basic Education Commission Coordinator, Anambra State, Mr. Kingsley Nlewedim, representing the Executive Secretary of the commission, Lady Aisha Garuba commended ASUBEB for its commitment and adherence to procedure in awarding contracts throughout the exercise and added that UBEC’s mandate is to support states in providing accessible, equitable, and quality basic education for every Nigerian child.
