The Archbishop Ecclesiastical Province of the Niger and Anglican
Bishop of Nnewi Diocese, Most Reverend Godwin Okpala has cautioned the
operators of social Media against using the platform to disseminate
false information.
Most Reverend Okpala gave the advice while addressing newsmen in his
office at Nnewi.
Our correspondent Nelson Eziechinam reports that
Archbishop Okpala stated that the rumour making the round that there
exists two Archbishops in the Niger Province of the Anglican Communion
is false, urging the media to stop promoting such information .
He maintained that although an Archbishop elect emerged for the
Ecclesiastical Province of the Niger during the last Standing
Committee of the Church of Nigeria in Lagos on second July, he is still
the authentic Archbishop of Niger Province, pending the time he
retires in late September 2019 after which the Archbishop elect will
be formally presented to assume duties.
Most Reverend Okpala advised the operators of Social Media to desist
from misinforming the public with stories capable of causing confusion
in the society.
He thanked the faithful for their support to his Arch-episcopacy.
