The Vice Chairman of the All-Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) in Anambra Central Senatorial District, Chief Nduka Okoye has been initiated into the prestigious ozonkpu society of Enugwu-Ukwu in Njikoka local government area.
The ceremony which took place at his compound in Iruokwe village, Enugwu-Ukwu was attended by government officials, members of APGA in Anambra State, great personalities in Enugwu-Ukwu and beyond.

The ceremony commenced with the arrival of Ndi Ozo Enugwu-Ukwu na Umunri into the arena with special traditional music and were received by Chief Okoye.
While decorating Chief Okoye after all the Ozonkpu rituals and his initiations have been performed, the Head of Ozo Enugwu-Ukwu na Umunri, Chief Raphael Okafor assisted by other Ozo title holders in the community called on him to always abide by the rules and regulations of the society, which among other things is to be honest at all times uphold the unity, peace and progress of the community.

Chief Okafor disclosed that Ozonkpu is the highest prestigious title in Enugwu-Ukwu na Umunri that is being given to someone who has the virtues of honesty, good character and must have contributed to the development of the community.
Responding, Chief Okoye whose Ozo title name is “Ubi Na eme nni “said that he was happy about his elevation to Ozonkpu society and assured that he will abide by the rules and regulations guiding it and continue to serve God and humanity with his wealth.

While presenting a certificate of recognition to Chief Okoye, the traditional ruler of Enugwu-Ukwu Na Umunri, Igwe Ralph Epke described Chief Okoye as a great asset to the community and urged him to use his title to promote peace, unity and development of the community.
On his part, the State Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, Chief Ifeatu Obi-Okoye said that the honour accorded Chief Okoye showed that he is good to his people and also a testimony of his good works, commitment to good governance of the State and continuous service to his people, while the Vice Chairman of APGA in Anambra South Senatorial District, Chief Surplus Ewuzie described him as an instrument of community development and prayed God to give him more wisdom and energy to discharge the responsibilities given to him.

Ijele masquerade display and various cultural dances added glamour to the ceremony.
Earlier, Igwe Ekpe accompanied by members of his cabinet witnessed the exhibition of arts, artifacts in Isi Nri Museum located at Obu Okpalanakana of the community.
Speaking during the exercise, the Director, Isi Nri Museum, Mrs Onyeka Aghasili explained that the museum which serves as tourist site is a reservoir of the history, customs and traditions of Enugwu-Ukwu Na Umunri
