Anambra State has been ranked number one in the ease of doing business i!n Southern Nigeria and number seven nationally by the Federal Government.
The State Commissioner for Industry, Mr Christian Udechukwu who disclosed this while speaking to the ABS in his office, said that Anambra achieved the feat because is number one in investment and infrastructural development, and expressed confidence that the ranking will improve significantly this year because of additional changes and sustainable improvement the state has made in the business environment.
The Commissioner revealed that the mutual working environment of the progressive government at the centre and in Anambra has significantly transformed mobility for businesses, logistics and fulfilment of last smiles for manufactured products, as it has made the movement of agricultural products from farm gate to market and factory a lot more easier and cost effective because of the sustainable improvement in the quality of road network.
He further said that Governor Chukwuma Soludo has achieved his vision of turning Anambra into a Smart Mega City by connecting everything about the state on the physical and digital levels far more than his predecessors, and also announced that Anambra has made an investment through a public private partnership on digital infrastructure, pointing out that the partnership has seen the state government invest in over two thousand kilometres communication fibre optic networks that has enhanced the quality of connectivity in the state by making it possible for people to seat anywhere and do the E-commerce business and provide digital services locally and globally. .
