Anambra State Govt To Intensify Drug, Security Awareness Campaign

The Anambra State Commissioner for Information, Dr. Law Mefor, has outlined plans for a comprehensive campaign tagged, “The Anambra Pulse Process”, set to commence after the election. 

The initiative will focus on drug awareness and prevention, educating parents and young people on the dangers of substance abuse.

As part of efforts to strengthen security, recruitment into the state’s security outfit will be based on referrals from respected community leaders to ensure credibility.  

Anambra Police Command, represented by CSP Chidubem Orede, reported a notable reduction in crimes such as vehicle snatching and abductions, citing recent fake kidnapping case in Awkuzu exposed a growing trend of self-orchestrated crimes among youths.

Honourable Henry Amechi Ogwudu called for renewed engagement with young people to steer them away from crime and urged collaboration between communities and security agencies to sustain the state’s safety.
