Professor Dora Akunyili Women Development Centre, Awka, came alive with excitement as the SEITAC Initiative, in partnership with the Anambra State Government, unveiled the groundbreaking Acquarescue Project and hosted an inspiring seminar on the Snail Value Chain.
Speaking on the theme of the event “Saving Lives, Building Resilience Technology and Community at the Heart of Water Disaster Response,” the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Welfare, Mrs Ify Obinabo emphasized that flooding remains one of Africa’s most pressing threats that destroys homes homes, livelihoods, and economic foundations, making it critical to introduce smart solutions and educate communities on flood mitigation.
Unveiling the project, the Founder, Engineer Uzo Okoye described Acquarescue as a visionary life-saving project built on three powerful pillars: to Predict, Prevent, and Rescue.
The event featured an eye-opening lecture on the Snail Value Chain by Dr Ukonu Ukonu, question and answer session as well as demonstrations on the Acquarescue technology.
