Anambra State Government has provided potable pipe-borne water supply to residents of Tasia Street, Inland Town, Onitsha, as part of its ongoing efforts to ensure water taps run in homes across the State.
This was disclosed by the Managing Director of the Anambra State Urban Water Asset Holdings Corporation, Engineer Ikeobi Ejiofor, who explained that the government is committed to restoring access to safe pipe-borne water.
According to Engineer Ejiofor, the agency has been working to locate and fix pipeline networks destroyed by human activities such as vandalism, construction on the pipeline right of way, encroachment, and other disruptive projects.
He explained that they recently inspected the pipeline reticulation and repair works on the four hundred and fifty millimeters distribution main line, which connects to the new one hundred millimeters secondary distribution line, to improve water supply to the Tasia Road axis by Ugwunabamkpa.
The Managing Director urged residents to protect public assets in their environment and to promptly report any destruction of water pipelines or illegal connections to the agency.
