Anambra State Education Family has received into her fold new students from JSS 1 and SS1 during the official flag off of the orientation ceremony of 2025/2026 academic session aimed at building solid foundation for Anambra school children.
The 2025/2026 Post Primary Schools Service Commission, PPSSC and Anambra State Universal Basic Education Board, ASUBEB, Joint Orientation Flag-off for secondary school students themed; “Education Foundation for All Round Development” took place at Girls Secondary School, Ojoto and attracted officials of PPSSC and ASUBEB, principals, teachers and students from across the state.

PPSSC Chairman, Professor Nkechi Ikediugwu, in her keynote address, described the orientation ceremony as a moment of renewal, reflection and rededication to the noble cause of education; bearing in mind that education is the foundation for all round development, and empowers individuals to think critically, communicate effectively and contribute meaningfully to the society.
She explained that PPSSC and ASUBEB as a body is committed to ensuring that every child under their supervision receives qualitative, inclusive and functional education, as education must go beyond mere acquisition of knowledge to building character, instilling discipline, nurturing creativity and promoting good citizenship.

Professor Ikediugwu maintained that it is upon this foundation that they build future leaders, innovators and change-makers who will drive sustainable development in Anambra and Nigeria.
The Executive Chairman ASUBEB, Dr. Vera Nwadinobi, in her comment, said the theme of the orientation ceremony aligns perfectly with the transformative vision of Governor Chukwuma Soludo whose people-centred reforms in the education sector continue to uplift academic standards, empower teachers and provide conducive learning environment across the state.

Earlier in her welcome address, the Principal of Girls Secondary School, Ojoto, Mrs Dorothy Nwamah, appreciated the officials of PPSSC and ASUBEB, principals, teachers and students for honouring their invitation, and described Ojoto as hospitable community blessed with milk and honey.
At the business session of the ceremony were resource persons including Reverend Father France Onwuchulum, Reverend Dr Charles Nwankwo, Mrs Faith Ilomuanya, and Mrs Rose Ohakwe.
Reverend Dr Nwankwo took the new students through oath-taking; signifying admission into their schools.
