In continuation of his efforts towards promotion of education in Ogbaru Local Government Area, the Speaker of Anambra State House of Assembly, Right Honourable Somtochukwu Udeze has doled out another ten Million Naira education grant to Ogbaru students in tertiary institutions and two point five Million Naira to secondary category to facilitate their tuition fees and other educational needs.
Speaking during the event entitled ” Ogbaru Youth Parliament: The Future Is Now, Not Tomorrow”, Right Honourable Udeze noted that the programme was the third edition of its kind and second phase of his ten Million Naira education grant, urging the beneficiaries to be determined to make a mark in their fields of studies, while appealing to them to support Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s re-election in view of his giant strides in all sectors of the State economy, especially in education.
In their separate remarks, the Chairman on the occasion, Sir Ikenna Odume and a Member of the Anambra State Universal Basic Education Board, Dame Chinyere Mbakwe, expressed gratitude to the Speaker for his genuine support to Ogbaru students and charged the beneficiaries to make good use of the money and their time, by taking their studies seriously.
Guest lecturers at the event including former member of the Anambra State House of Assembly, Honourable Ejiofor Egwuatu, two entrepreneurs, Mr.Ifeanyi Ogbaji and Mrs.Adaobi Onyele, encouraged the Ogbaru Youth and students to believe in themselves by being committed to their studies and skills to brighten their future, while thanking the Speaker, Right Honourable Udeze for his special interest in the Youth and students of Ogbaru Local Government Area.
