Anambra State Assembly Holds Public Hearing On Igbo Apprenticeship Bill 2024

Anambra State House of Assembly has organized a public hearing on  the Igbo apprenticeship bill 2024, where Masters and apprentices welcomed the hearing and said that it will help strengthen a system that has produced many successful business people in the State and beyond.

Declaring the hearing open, the Speaker of the Assembly, Right Honourable Somtochukwu Udeze, said that the bill will help to prevent abuse, promote transparency, and preserve a key cultural and economic practice in Igbo society. 

According to the sponsor of the bill, Honourable Ejike Okechukwu, it seeks to discourage exploitation by ensuring that all contractual relationships are clearly defined.      

The Chairman House Committee on Commerce, Trade and Industry, Honourable Innocent Ojike in his submission said that the bill would also boost investor confidence and standardize the traditional system to align with global best practices.
