Anambra State Internal Revenue Service says it is committed to
improving the revenue profile of the State.
Its Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Dr. David Nzekwu, stated
this during a bid opening for the management of Motor parks across the
State in Awka.
While addressing the prospective revenue agents that will be in charge of
the motor parks and other areas of revenue collection in the state, Dr
Nzekwu said that so many significant changes has been made in the
method of revenue collection which is geared towards improving the
revenue profile of the State.

He maintained that adopting transparent approach in the bidding
process was to ensure that credible persons are selected as revenue
agents for proper accountability but warned against any act of revenue
fraud in future as anyone caught will be severely dealt with.
Dr Nzekwu on the occasion, introduced a new apron and receipt which
are all registered and coded with the agency’s server.

Contributing, the Head of Department, Legal and Enforcement, Anambra
State Internal Revenue Service, Mr David Onyilofor who noted that
their past experiences with revenue collection agents
gave birth to the new policy in order to keep them in check.
The event attracted government functionaries including the
Commissioner for Transport Sir Uchenna Okafor represented by his
administrative assistant Mrs Judy Jeff-Nwabueze, Commissioner for
Trade, Commerce and Wealth creation Dr Christian Madubuko and Local
Government Chairmen among others.
Over two hundred persons took part in the bidding exercise.
