Anambra CP Seeks Collaboration With NUJ In Promotion Of Security

The State Commissioner of Police Mr. John Abang has solicited for
stronger cooperation with the State Council of the Nigeria Union of
Journalists, for enhanced Security of life and property.

He made the call when he visited the Council Secretariat at Ezeemo
International Press Centre in Awka.

While addressing members of the union,  Mr. Abang said that his mandate in the state is to serve the people of the State in maintaining an enabling
environment for improved business transactions.

He called for collaboration between the police and Media practitioners
in Anambra State to enable the police perform its duty effectively.

Mr Abang promised that the Anambra State Police Command will continue
to work within the ambits of the law, while observing the fundamental
human rights of Nigerians, as entrenched in the constitution.

Receiving the State Police Commissioner, the State Chairman of the
Nigeria Union of Journalists, Comrade Emma Ifesinachi assured that the
union is committed to assisting him to achieve his objective.

He commended the State Police Command and state government for their
proactive measures in bringing crimes to the barest minimum.       

In a vote of thanks, the Director of News and Current Affairs
Department of the Anambra Broadcasting Service Mr. Gab Okpalaeze
thanked Mr. Abang for the visit and promised that the union will
support the police in its duty.
