Anambra State House of Assembly has further suspended the member representing Anyamelum, Honourable Bernard Udemezue for a period not exceeding three months without pay for non compliance with parliamentary activities.
This follows the recommendations of the House Committee on Rules, Business, Ethics and Privileges during yesterday’s plenary session where the House recommended that Honourable Udemezue should apologize to the Speaker and members of the Eight Assembly in writing and on his social media space within five days counting from 26th November, 2025, while he should not be seen around the premises of the Assembly for the period of his suspension.
The recommendation also stated that from the findings of the House within the period of his suspension, that Honourable Udemezue has not apologized to the Speaker and the Assembly members both on social media and in written form.
The Majority leader of the House, Sir Ikenna Ofodeme, who chairs the committee, maintained that Honourable Udemezue still took to his Facebook page to continue in the very act of ridiculing Anambra Assembly and never adhered to the provisions of the resolutions of 28th August 2025, while violating the resolution by showing up in the legislative chamber on Tuesday, 25th November 2025, and not only did he show up but appeared ready to disrupt the legislative activities of the day.
