The 2026 Appropriation Bill presented by Governor Chukwuma Soludo to Anambra State House of Assembly has scaled second reading.
The proposed budget size which stands at Seven hundred and fifty-seven billion, eight hundred and eighty-four million, four hundred and eighty-seven thousand, seven hundred and five naira, was debated extensively by the lawmakers during yesterday’s plenary session.
According to the Speaker, Right Honourable Somtochukwu Udeze, the 2026 budget represents a renewal of the state government’s social contract with the people who have entrusted it with their mandate, saying that the budget is a consolidation of massive development in the state.
The Majority Leader, Honourable Ikenna Ofodeme, the member representing Anambra East Constituency, Barrister Obi Nweke and his Aguata Constituency One counterpart, Honourable Anayo Okpalaeke said the appropriation bill is a collective growth achieved so far for the service expected by Ndi Anambra.
