ABS To Collaborate With FIRS In Promoting Prompt Tax Payment By Govt Offices, Agencies

The Anambra Broadcasting Service (ABS) says it will collaborate with the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) to promote prompt tax payment by government offices and agencies.

Correspondent Emmanuel Okonkwo reports that the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of ABS, Mr. Christopher Molokwu, disclosed this when officials of the FIRS Abuja office, led by a Director in the agency, Dr. Mustapha Akaje, paid him a courtesy visit in his office in Awka.

Mr. Molokwu, who noted that tax payment is a civic responsibility of every citizen, assured that the station would strictly comply with the remittance of taxes deducted from staff salaries to the government’s coffers as and when due,  pledging the station’s support in sensitizing other government agencies to do the same.

Earlier, the leader of the delegation, Dr. Akaje, explained the importance of remitting taxes deducted from staff salaries each month by government agencies, urging the ABS boss to support the FIRS, particularly in ensuring timely remittance of taxes and in enlightening other offices to follow suit.
