Abagana Community Showcases Cultural Heritage At 2025 New Yam Festival

It was a day of colour, thanksgiving, and celebration in Abagana, Njikoka Local Government Area, as the community’s Regent, Dr. Nwachukwu Anakwenze, led indigenes and guests in marking the 2025 New Yam Festival at his Umudunu country home.

Dr. Anakwenze, who is also the Chief Executive Officer of Global Care Medical Group, described the festival as a living testament to the Igbo people’s pride and cultural identity and stressed that the annual celebration goes beyond feasting, but reaffirms unity, heritage, and thanksgiving for a bountiful harvest. 

On his part, Chief Ikechukwu Ogugua described the festival as a sacred thanksgiving to God for abundant harvests, urging young Igbo people to cherish and sustain their traditions.     

Chief Ifeoma, a legal practitioner, praised the Prime Minister for his unwavering support to women, widows, students, and struggling families.
