The World Health Organization has viewed exercise as an activity that promotes the general well-being of human being.
In addition, a United Kingdom department of Health study also revealed that people who participate in regular physical activities have up to thirty percent lower risk of premature death, twenty percent lower risk of breast cancer, fifty percent lower risk of type two diabetes among other findings.
According to a health release by a member of the Nigeria Medical Association Awka Zone, Dr. Ernest Ifebi on the health benefits of exercise, the activity represents the miracle cure people have been waiting for given its ability to reduce ones risk of major ailments by as much as fifty percent.
Dr. Ifebi listed other benefits of exercise to include weight control, strengthening of bones and muscles, improvement of sleep, better life and lower cholesterol level.
The medical expert noted that exercise aids in strengthening the body’s immune system which according to him, is the body’s defense system against foreign bodies.
