Anambra State government has commiserated with the family of the National chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance Party, APGA, Chief Victor Oye, over the death of his daughter, Mrs. Chinenye Amaechi, nee, Oye.Governor Willie Obiano and wife, Dr. Ebelechukwu, top government officials, APGA faithful, well wishers, among others joined the family to pay their last respect.


A commendation service was held in her honour at Oye’s compound in Amawbia, Awka South Council Area.
In his speech, Governor Obiano who prayed God to give the family the fortitude to bear the irreplaceable loss, advice Ndi Anambra to always live a holy life, as nobody knows when he will answer the ultimate call. In a reflection, Chaplain to the Governor, Reverend Father Patrick Okafor, said that everyone will depart the world at some point, no matter their status, asking the family to have faith in God.Responding, Chief Oye said that God has strengthened his family by the exemplary life she lived.


Appreciating his family for their courage and the Governor for commiserating with them, Chief Oye said his daughter sacrificed her life for humanity,
expressing confidence in God’s ability to have mercy on her soul.Renditions by the choir also featured at the commendation service.Born on the twenty-fifth of September, 1991, late Mrs. Chinenye Amaechi, nee Oye, who died at the age of twenty-seven, will be laid to rest in her husband’s compound at Ahiazu Mbaise in Imo State.
