Anambra Judiciary Reassures On Improved Delivery Of Justice As Conference For Law Officers Ends In Awka

Anambra State Judiciary says it is bent on improving justice delivery
in the state as the two day conference organized for law officers in
the state comes to an end.

The two day capacity building and re-examination conference which took
place at the Head of Service Conference Hall, Jerome Udorji State
Secretariat in Awka, was organized by the Anambra state Ministry of
Justice.

The two day workshop had in attendance, the Anambra State Head of
Service, Mr Harry Uduh, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Legal
Matters, Mrs Pat Igwebike, the academia, practicing lawyers in the state among others,

Speaking on the essence of the workshop, the Attorney General and State Commissioner for Justice, Dr. Mrs Uju Nwogu noted that the idea
was to equip the law officers with all the tools needed to be the best in the practice which targets at making justice delivery in the state an outstanding one.

She noted that the importance of judiciary in forming a good and
formidable government and also in ensuring a society free of crime
cannot be over emphasized and charged the law officers to remain good
ambassadors of the judiciary through their actions.

On her part, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Legal Matters, Mrs
Pat Igwebike urged legal practitioners to be fair and just in performing their duties.

Delivering a lecture on the rules of professional conduct, the Chief
Legal Adviser and a University Orator, Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka,
Professor Ken Nwogu, advised that anyone being admitted into the law
profession must be morally certified.

Some of the participants including a Senior State Counsel at the
Ministry of Justice, Mr Chike Emeka and a State Counsel , Mr Daniel Ezechukwu who viewed the workshop as timely and the topics treated as apt, commended the Attorney General’s dedication in setting standard in the Anambra judiciary
