Review Meeting Of Executives Of Primary Health Care Development Boards Commences In Awka

The second Quarter Review Meeting of Chief Executives of Primary
Health Care Development Boards has commenced in Awka, with the
welcoming of Chief Executives from different states of the federation,
including the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja by the Chief Host, the
Executive Secretary and Chief Executive Officer of Anambra state
Primary Health Care Development Agency, Dr. Chioma Ezenyimulu.

In an interview, Dr. Ezenyimulu noted that though the hosting was
rotational, the good performance of the state in the healthcare
system, especially at the primary healthcare level, where Anambra won
the best state in immunization last year might have also brought the
hosting of the event to the state.

She maintained that the meeting is critical for the Chief Executives,
as it enables them to take stock of what have been achieved and what
can still be achieved in the primary healthcare sector of the country.

In their various remarks, the Chairman, Governing Board of the State
Primary Healthcare Development Agency, Professor Josephat Ogbuagu and
the Head of Community Health Service, Anambra Primary Healthcare
Agency, Dr. Kanayo Onalu pointed out that the creation of Primary
Healthcare Development Agency in states of the federation has helped
in ensuring good health for citizens of the country, adding that the
meeting provides an avenue for them to deliberate on what can still be
achieved.

Correspondent Kenechukwu Chukwudi reports that the Executive Director,
National Primary Healthcare Development Agency, Dr. Faisal Shuaib is
expected to be part of the meeting, where important decisions will be
taken for the country’s Primary Healthcare Sector.
