More than two persons are feared to have lost their lives while others sustained different degrees of injury yesterday, in an auto crash that occurred along Onitsha-Owerri Road, by Obodoukwu Road Junction Okpoko.
The accident, which involved a long truck carrying a forty feet container loaded with roofing sheets, tripped off balance and fell on other moving vehicles along the road.

Our correspondent, who visited the scene, reports that a crowd was seen trying to rescue those trapped inside two tricycles, and a shuttle bus, under the long truck.
Two towing vehicles were also seen trying to lift the container and truck from the ground, all to no avail due to the weight of the goods.
They later resorted to unloading the roofing sheets from the container, on the spot.
Some traffic agents who spoke off camera blamed the fatality to the tricycle operators who have refused to 70th stay off the major road while picking passengers, just as some traders who are still adamant to State Government’s directive against street trading.
