The effective use of internet facilities came to the fore at the ongoing DIGI-preneur Week, in Awka.
Speakers at the event were able to put the over two hundred participants who are mainly youths through inspiring sessions on how they could explore the vast benefits of the internet to make huge profits and become employers of labour.

From conference, to exhibition, networking and training, the youths were able to gain exposure into different digital ideas they may wish to employ.
The over two hundred participants, including under-graduates, graduates, job seekers, the employed, and start-ups, are expected to use the dividends of the one-week programme to change lives, by harnessing the potential of the social media.

Declaring the event open, the Commissioner for Youth Empowerment and Creative Economy, Mr. Afam Mbanefo, whose Ministry is overseeing the programme, said that achieving business goals, through the application of technology is a global trend the youths should key into.

The convener of the event, and the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Youth Development and Digital Entrepreneurship, Mr Ifeanyi Anagor, said the exercise, apart from exposing the young people to the opportunities on the social media, would equip them with the digital tools to develop their start-up ideas.
In his keynote speech, the Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Youth, Pastor Yugo Enechebe, advised the participants to see the social media as a forum with multiple opportunities.
The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the Anambra Broadcasting Service, ABS, Chief Uche Nworah, and Chairman, Nigeria Union of Journalists, Anambra State Council, Comrade Emma Ifesinachi, stressed the need for youths to explore the potential and simplicity of the internet, and form networks that
will help them in their chosen career.
