Over two hundred candidates have received sacrament of confirmation in Awka Anglican Diocese.
They were confirmed by the Archbishop Elect, Province of the Niger and Bishop of Awka Diocese, Most Revered Alexander Ibezim.
The service featured Admission into Women’s Guild and Father’s Fellowship of Saint John’s Parish, Okpuno and Saint Michael’s And All Angels Anglican Church Ifite, Awka.

In a sermon to mark the service at Saint Micheal’s and All Angels Ifite Awka, the Archbishop Elect, Most Revered Ibezim who spoke on the topic “For all have sinned”, said holiness, purity and prayerful life are required from a true child of God, noting that God does not derive joy in the death of a sinner.
He lamented that many are floating on top of indecision, cultism, prostitution among other things, stating that destruction will come upon those who indulge in such acts at the last day.
Most Revered Ibezim challenged the newly confirmed candidates not to be ashamed of preaching the gospel and encouraged them to be born again for the Holy Spirit to dwell in them.

In their separate speeches, the Vicar of Saint John’s Parish, Okpuno, Reverend Canon Onyekachukwu Egwuonwu and his Saint Michael’s counterpart, Reverend Canon Kenechukwu Nwafor said that indeed, the church of Christ is matching on and the pastoral visit has opened the eyes of the youths on how best to live so as to benefit in God’s glory.

Some of the candidates newly admitted into Fathers Fellowship , including Comrade Ifeanyi Jideifor and Barrister Julieth Amasiatu on behalf of those admitted to Women’s Guild and Mr Kenneth Obi, a confirmation candidate, all of the ABS Awka, promised to uphold the promises made and live exemplary life for others to emulate.
